About Sara

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Sara.

This site is meant to be a resource for some pretty cool things. Nothing specific but definitely everything awesome. I also share a few personal things so you can see who I am and where I come from. You know, so we can become pals. 🙂

What kind of things do I find awesome?… hmmm. Well, pretty much anything that is beautiful, efficient, has character, healthy, creates happiness and that helps others. I think that sums up everything that might be on this blog.

Simply put, this is a blog about all things that will enrich your life.

I have come to have a far greater appreciation for those tiny good things in life that we often so much take for granted. This appreciation has grown through trial, as is often the case. My husband, only 32 years old, passed away on February 6th, 2013 from a long bumpy road of cancer. I was lucky enough to be able to spend the last few months by his side 24/7. When you count life in numbers of hours and days you start to appreciate very small things like the smile on your husband’s face, the way his hair sweeps across his head or the cute oddities of his personality that you may have once found peculiar. You even more appreciate the beauty of snowfall, a piece of hand-crafted furniture and the love that strangers can have for each other. Time seems to slow down and you have a lot of time to think about what really matters. What matters to me? God, family and making life the best it can be for myself and others. “… men are that they might have joy.” 2 Nephi 2:25

Many wonderful people have given me beautiful compliments wondering how I can get through this with such grace, strength and beauty. I feel that I am lucky, because despite the difficulty, often times feeling so unbearable, I feel I have a firm foundation that I have built my life upon that allows me to be happy during tragedy and smile through the sorrow. Not because I am hiding anything, but because I know who I am. I have a true sense of purpose. I know where I came from and I know where I am going and that place includes Ben for eternity. God is surely with me. If you want to know more, tune in, because I will be sharing so many tips, tricks and messages about how I get through life.

You will notice I have a lot of dessert posts. This is because I love to make desserts. I have a separate blog solely for my desserts called Share Dessert Company. (The website is www.sharedessertcompany.com). Let me mention that I do not have an actual baking business. I only bake for family functions, for fun and for the blog. So I will also be posting a lot of those desserts on this blog too, because desserts are surely great things.

And so with you I will share my journey of life to health and happiness.
I decided to call this blog “Life with Sara Jane” because that’s what it is about. Life.
Living life to the fullest.

This may not be easy for everyone. I fully understand that. Sometimes we feel like life gets put on hold for things that are more important. Prioritizing is key to a happy life. However, we don’t have to push out all the beauty and light when times are dark. Embrace what you can, even if it seems so tiny. These things will keep you afloat in the murky waters until you can find dry ground.

Last of all, I would love to hear from you. About anything. About things you have gone through and what healthy things you have found helpful. I would love to share them with everyone. It’s all about helping each other get through life. The one thing we all have in common is suffering, unfortunately. We can help share each others’ burdens and lighten the yolk.

A little bit more about me:
I am married to an absolutely wonderful man, Chris, and we have a boxer (named Izzy). We reside in the lovely mountains of Centerville, Utah. I am a pharmacy manager for a local hospital and a youth teacher for my church. Chris and I love food and vacation. We are big dreamers. Chris is a filmmaker and owns a company called Raw Caption Media, specializing in wedding videography and fine art. I enjoy trying to stay healthy, experiencing new things and living life to the fullest. I am guided daily by Christ and I am happy. This is who I am. 🙂
